    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    This sounds like a file permission problem on the server, so it’s nothing that TablePress can change or influence.

    Performing a manual update via FTP should therefore be the best method here, indeed. You won’t have to backup any files, as the table data is stored in the database, but it’s always good to have a backup of course. To do that, just export all tables to the JSON format on the “Export” screen of TablePress.
    Then, just delete the current plugin folder “tablepress” on the server and upload the new one.
