Cannot update or install plugins after moving wordpress from test folder

  • I moved my wordpress installation from a folder to my root foldeer.

    Everything works, uploading images and all that…

    BUT when I try to update plugins it give mes CANNOT CREATE FOLDER : INSTALLATION FAILED.

    I tried to change wp-content plugins and uploads folders to 777, but doesnt change a thing.

    Tried to chown -R www-data:www-data /root folder/* and it tells me that there is no such user.

    I am lost.

    Help
