I am getting the following error when I try to update:

An error occurred while updating Wordfence Security: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions. tmp/configCache.php

    What should I do?

    Thanks, Eva-Maria

There was an issue in WordPress 4.3 that could sometimes cause this issue — can you confirm that you’re using WordPress 4.3.1, and if not, update it?

If you’re already using the latest version of WordPress, look on Wordfence’s Options page, and turn on the option “Disable config caching.” If the config cache file still exists after that (as wp-content/plugins/wordfence/tmp/configCache.php), you can delete just the configCache.php file manually, using FTP or your site’s control panel.

After that, the update should work.
