    Hi there,

    I followed the instructions on your install page but I am not able to subscribe public users either by the subscribe page or the widget. I get the following error “Sorry, there seems to be an error on the server. Please try again later.”

    Also, when I add an email address from the Public subscriber page. I get this message “Address(es) subscribed!” but the address is not added.

    I have an email address of the same domain as the site in the email setting page as suggested in other posts but that does not fix the problem either.

    I used the send email from subscribe2 menu and it only sends email to one of the address in register users. I have only two.

    Do you know what is wrong in my settings?

    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Amyris.

  • @Amyris,

    This will be happening for one of two reasons:

    1/ The Public Subscribers table is not fully installed or access is restricted.
    2/ The web server is restricted in sending email.

    From your symptoms it sounds more like 1/. So, if you can access PHPMyAdmin check t see if the table is fully installed with the following columns: id, email active, date, time, ip, conf_date, conf_time and conf_ip.

    If those are not present then the user of your database probably does’t have the capability in MySQL to alter the database and that needs to be fixed before Subscribe2 or WordPress will work fully.

    Thanks so much! I had not entered the right password for the mysql user! Now, it works like a charm.

    @Amyris,

    Excellent, that would have caused you all kinds of problems so it’s good it got sorted.
