cannot set featured image

I’m having trouble setting the featured image. I changed the featured image for this post:

and it uploads successfully in the gallery but when i set it as featured image, it just appears as broken.

I was also writing a new post and encountered the same issue when I tried to set a feature image. It uploads successfully but it appears broken once I go back to the edito or check preview

Been researching. I already tried checking the upload folder in cpanel and they’re all 755. I also recently installed wp super cache if that’s an issue. I’ve had woocommerce for months now but only encountered this issue now.
