I installed Mailpoet 3 free version on Friday 11-aug. When I configured the plugin I could send a test-mail and received it. I started making my newsletter on Saturday 12-aug. But when I tried to send the newsletter yesterday 13-aug I got he message: “Cannot send email. Address in mailbox given [@…] does not comply with RFC 2822, 3.6.2”

Since I expected that it had to do with my configured mail-addresses; sender from, reply to, bounce, I check the mail-address. But they are all the same – my personal mail-address of which I’m convinced that it is correct and works.

I’m not sure if this comes from WordPress, MailPoet, my hoster or my Office365 online Exchange. Hope you have a clue where to seek?

  • Hi,

The error message should also display the email address of the last subscriber. Please locate it in the list of subscribers, edit it and remove any non-ASCII characters (é?ü etc). Try to resume sending afterwards and let us know if that helped.

    Regards,
    MailPoet Team.

Hi, Thanks for the swift reply !
In the error message only [@deitregisseur.nl] is specified.
I checked the emailaddress, no non-ASCII characters were found.
However I added the mailadress to a subscriber-list, thought that this clould make a difference. But it didn’t – same result. BR / John

    Re,

Could we please ask you to get in touch with us directly by using the blue speech bubble on any of the plugin pages? We’ll then take a closer look at your site.

    Thanks!
