Cannot Search For Plugins In Dashboard

Hey guys …. im using a new firewall and ive never had the problem of not being able to search for plugins from my dashboard. i get this error message

An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

somthing else ive noticed is that my WordPress server cannot receive any inbound connection (im assuming)from other servers like pingdom … any ideas on what the problem could be or what i need to unblock on my firewall
