    Hello,

I have the same problem on 2 websites, I cannot connect updraftplus to FTP, the error message is :

FTP settings test result: Failure: we did not successfuly log in with those credentials.

    Messages:
PHP event: code E_Warning: ftp_login(): Login authentication failed (line 46, wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/inludes/ftp.class.php)”

the credentials are ok (using the same for filezilla and it works), no firewall active..Moreover for one of the webiste it is on a server next to other websites which use updraftplus and do not have this problem.

If I run a backup anyway, the backup works to a point whan it stops ans days the backup could not finish. But when I check on the FTP, there are some files there for the backup..

Well I am lost ! may you help ?

    thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello

When testing the connection through Filezilla with the FTP protocol, are you able to successfully connect when selecting the “Only use plain FTP (insecure)” option in the Encryption dropdown box as per this screenshot

Hello and thanks for taking care.
Yes I can still connect, although I usually use the explicit TLS option

Thank you for the update. Please could you share the backup log using pastebin.com? You can find it in the wp-content / updraft folder.

I just tried a new backup to get the log.

Another strange thing is I cannot suppress the failed backups, I try to, get a success message, but they still display on backup page (as well as files on FTP)…

    Thanks !

Thanks – try changing to/from Passive mode on your FTP settings and as another test try disabling SSL in Settings > Show expert settings

please could you try removing the existing FTP settings using “delete these settings”, change your FTP password and try again.
