Cannot Save Or Publish Post For 2 Weeks Now

  • Every time I save a draft, it takes me to a blank page, address is

    https://www.AddressGoesHere.com/wp-admin/post.php

    When I go back to drafts and click on the post it saves about half the post, the rest is gone.

    This happens every single time. It will also not publish any new content or even upload images into the post.

    I have searched previous entries for this same problem but none of them seem to have been resolved.

    Thanks for any help you can give.

    Thanks for the link man.
    So I disabled plugins, didn’t make any difference.
    I uninstalled gears, no difference.
    Changed to default theme, no difference.
    Tried different browsers, no difference.

    I was using version 2.6 when this started happening so I thought an upgrade would take care of it. I’m now using 2.8.4 and it I still can’t publish and it saves about the first 50% of my post content.

    Any other ideas would be very welcome guys.

    What kind of server are you using? *nix or IIS?

    Try resetting your custom permalinks to the default setting. If that works, then re-set your custom permalink structure back up again.

    Thanks for the suggestion and help.

    I changed the permalink structure, still no change.

    To be honest I don’t know what type of server it is. It’s unlimited hosting from GoDaddy.

    I have a similar problem, except in my case it just gose back to the blog before the new post as if nothing has happend. I use version 2.0.11
    I have no idea how to usea blog, I just uptae it as I have been shown it. The friend who designed it passsed away last year and i am helpless ??

    @bylto: Did you try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    @adel.Darwish: I’d recommend that you upgrade your blog asap. Given that it’s using such an old version of WordPress, you’ll need to carry out a series of intermediate upgrades to get from 2.0 to 2.8. In the meantime, try running through this list:

    Thanks again esmi.

    I reset via phpMyAdmin but once again this didn’t resolve the issue.

    If anyone has had a similar experience and resolved it, I’d like to hear from you.

    How old is the blog and how long has this been happening?

    Blog’s been going well since late 2007. This has been happening for only a couple of weeks.

    Have you made any changes in the past few weeks? Upgraded a plugin? Changed or upgraded a theme?

    No, I didn’t change anything.

    That’s the reason why I thought it had to be something to do with the fact that I was still using WP 2.6. So I upgraded to 2.8 and the problem persists.

    Try manually re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders.

    I’d be a little concerned about your permalink structure, in your shoes. Using just %postname% means that, at best, you’ll be taking a performance hit. Whether that’s a factor in in your current problem, I couldn’t say.
