After I installed and removed few plugins I’m not able to save as admin most of settings (like “general”). The change reaches “options.php” page and shows an empty page with “security check!” as error message. I have reset admin role, deleted all added roles. Out of ideas.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. Hopefully, this will force the default theme to activate and rule out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Your hints on themes was the saver! I have just update “OnePress” 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 – and this resulted in this strange error message. Reverted back to previous version saved the day!

    Many thanks.
