Every time I try to save/create Job with FTP as a destination I’m getting ERR_TIMED_OUT after a while from my web browser. Job doesn’t save any FTP params provided.

It looks like Backwpup is trying to validate FTP before Job save but does not provide any feedback on errors – just timeout occurs and I need to reload admin page.

    Hi @iknowsomething
Could you give me some screenshots about this error?
    thank you!

There is nothin special about that:

    This site can’t be reached
domain.pl took too long to respond.
    Try:

    Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
    Running Network Diagnostics
    ERR_TIMED_OUT

Here is the link to the screenshot

It happens every time when I click on Save changes button on To:FTP tab. No matter what data I’ll provide (even blank fields of FTP credentials), it always goes to ERR_TIMED_OUT.

    (@iknowsomething)

Is there any way to debug it without getting into the code?

This is what I have prior to Save changes:

    PS
    I run local backups smoothly.

    New findings!

It’s not only about ‘Saving changes’…
Every time I step into To:FTP tab and from there trying to go out to another (e.g. back to General tab), I’m always getting ERR_TIMED_OUT.

    @iknowsomething,
IdeaWebServer this web server is weird, I never see this one before.
Could you please tell me where exactly did you host this site?

    Thread Starter Krzysztof Przygoda

    (@iknowsomething)

This is Polish hosting provider https://home.pl/
Yeah, I know it’s weird, because it is Apache alike homebrew webserver. But I have never had bigger problems with WP on it. Anyway, we won’t find root-cause this way (i.e. looking into webserver config).

Can you provide me with information, where in the plugin code I can hook up to debug what can goes wrong under the hood (controller/method/script)? It happens during switching from To:FTP tab to another and getting stuck on admin-post.php.

    Sorry for my late reply,
FTP codes are located in inc/class-destination-ftp.php

K, hope to hear from you soon.
