Cannot Save Changes to Published Pages

  • Hello all,

    I recently posted (without reply) about problems I was having with updates to published/saved posts and pages. I have now identified that this seems to be a problem only affecting pages.

    My pages will not accept updates that are more than two characters, and no more than one such update within an unknown period of time. For example, I can add the text “XX” anywhere on a page, or remove the text “XX” from a page, but I cannot add more than that or delete more than that.

    I have tried the following:

    – Disabled Revisions
    – Set AutoSave to five minutes
    – Cleared all browser cache
    – Disabled all plugins
    – I do not currently use a cache plugin

    Do you have any thoughts as to what could potentially cause this?

  • Don’t know if it helps or not, but the standard ‘answer’ seems to be to repair the tables in the database using phpMyAdmin.

    Thanks for the reply. Does this have any adverse effect on the rest of the site or content?

    It depends on errors found in the tables. In the two cases I have tried, it had no adverse effect.

    You should back up the database first to be safe.
