Hello. I’ve downloaded WP security to be able to edit the wp-config.php file to change the mySQL database password.

Is my understanding correct that the only way to do so with your plugin is by creating a backup of the wp-config.php file, then edit the backup and reupload the backup?

In any case, I’ve tried that and I always get the error message “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.” So in other words, I can create a backup of the file, but I cannot use the backup to restore it.

Could you be so kind to let me know how to fix this? Thanks alot!

    Hi,

I am experiencing the same issue.
You will need to do the following.
Log into your site via FTP, download the wp-config.php
Change the password, upload and replace the wp-config.php with the amended version
I will raise this issue with our development team so we can provide a fix for this.
