I have been unable to rename a top level page in my wordpress install. When I ‘duplicate’ the page, it adds an -2 to the page name. This in turn automatically creates a ‘redirect’ in my Redirection plugin. I’ve figured out that you can delete them here, and the page can then be renamed to it’s original state. However, this one page is not changing names from /tickets-2 to just /tickets.

Is there something I’m missing or are permissions changed?

    Thanks.

  • If I understand you correctly, this is usually caused because there is already a page called “tickets”. You need to find that page and delete it, or change it’s slug to something else.

    Hope this helps.

If this is a static Page, try emptying your Page Trash.

Emptying the trash did it. Thank you.
