Cannot Remove Spam Comments

    My blog is has 60 comments in the “pending” section. All are spam. There is NO mechanism to delete them: no box to check next to each comment, no menu appearing beneath the comment, and when clicking Apply and trying the bulk action, nothing happens.
    Can anyone provide an explanation and fix for this? The comments aren’t visible on the blog, but piling up on the back end and it’s become quite frustrating. I don’t understand how WordPress is no longer showing the usual methods of comment moderation/removal.
