• I am a new WordPress user so please forgive me if this is a newbie question.

I recently installed WordPress on a site and am familiarising myself with how to use it, along with the aid of some YouTube tutorials. All fine and good. The problem that has occurred is when it comes to installing themes.

One tutorial I was following suggested using the 2016 Theme. Installed it, playing around with it, fine. However, now I am stuck with it. The problem is that this is a theme that inserts text boxes for company and contact details on your page. I am not a company, I am just wanting to create an interest blog and have no interest in giving street addresses, phone numbers etc. No matter what new designs I try and employ it still seems to be inserting these text boxes into the page.

I would likely to completely remove this theme. However, when I try and google “how to remove a wordpress theme” all I seem to get is instructions on how to remove various sections of theme by inserting code. I don’t want to get around the theme, I want to Delete, Remove, have nothing more to do with. I am unable to even see anywhere where I can change this to another theme, even though I have installed others.

I know this is probably a really basic question but can someone help me with it?

Review this codex for some instructions how to remove a theme from your WordPress site:

Okay thank you for that T-p. it is straightforward to follow. However, there is one problem.

I go through all of the steps outlined. BUT once I get to the Theme Details there is no delete button in the bottom right-hand corner. If I had the means to upload a screenshot of what is on the screen before me to prove I wasn’t making this up, I would but there is no Delete button or any such analogous command there.

You can also delete any theme via FTP/ SFTP , or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and delete theme you want deleted.
