Cannot reimport files that were already imported via the plug-in
-
Hi Dion,
This is a great plug-in that has saved me some time in migrating a site.
Here is a couple of suggestions that would make it even better:
1. If one accidentally forgets to set the “Set the imported date” to “File Time” (which should be the default — at least for site migration) instead of “Current Time”, the damage cannot be undone: All the files are imported to the current year and month. If one tries to import the same files again and set them to “File Time”, one gets error messages that the files already exist in the media library. It would be great, if instead just the import date could be updated, so the files would appear at the correct time in the media library.
2. When migrating a site with many years of contents, it is a bit tedious that you have to go into every year/month sub folder to select files. Instead it would be great with an option to select a folder and do a recursive import from it.
3. When importing from existing folders under wp-content/uploads/<year>/<month>, you could consider a third option for import date: The original date per the year/month folder. However, I guess that the file date will often be of the same year/month, so I guess this is not that important.
Best regards,
Frank
