• Hi,

So I am trying to update my wp database for my sister’s business website, as I was prompted to do so when I tried to log in to the dashboard.

So I read how to back up my database and files so that I would not lose them in case something went wrong during the db update.

So now I have the database and website files backed up on my computer.

And I read that the last step was to deactivate the plugins before updating the database. So when I went to log in to do that, it gave me the following “fatal error” information…

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare iis7_supports_permalinks() (previously declared in /home/tmal/hydepark.com/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php:3476) in /home/tmal/hydepark.com/wordpress/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 403

So I did a quick internet search and found someone else who said they had received the same error message. Then another person commented that it was because the function was declared twice and that they needed to comment out one of them.

So I tried that myself and then it popped up another error code, so I figured I would come here and ask before I dug my grave any deeper. I’m starting to get nervous. Any help would be greatly appreciated of course. Thanks,
