cannot network activate plugins

Go look at Super Admin – Themes.

What do you see?

this has nothing to do with domain mapping or plugins.

I did now deactivate all plugins including all mapping plugins, updated the network and nothing.
Strangely, I can access the backend without the mapping plugins (Add Domain Mapping Menu, WP MU Domain Mapping, Super Admin Plugin Manager).
I have the feeling that it has something to do with these plugin configuration.

Then I reactivated 1 by 1 and still nothing.

Perhaps you should know that the mapped site is installed in another reseller account.
The superadmin wp site is installed in my server as a reseller account, and the mapped site is installed as an added domain within another reseller account I created in my server. But all accounts and sites are have the same server ip.
Do you think it can have an influence in rooting to the superadmin?
It has no difficulty to access the backend back no updates are visible.

Perhaps I should remove the mapped site, and re-mapp it.

In super admin – themes, I see all uploaded themes, checked: enabled.

You did the mapping incorrectly. I actually can;t even work out what you did.

The domain you map to your WordPress network does not have its own webhost account.

Go to Super Admin -> Sites.
Add a new site.
DO NOT MAP IT.

Go to the admin area of the site. Go to Appearance – > Themes. what do you see?

I’m thinking how ever you did the “domain mapping” you’ve actually got another install. this is why you’re not seeing the same plugins and themes in the “mapped” install. It’s separate.

Because using the domain mapping plugin above, you *cannot* access the mapped domain if you turn it off.

After removing and re-adding the mapped site, now with ID 3, the mapped site is still the same: No themes available.

I think the superadmin is not mapping the site, although it let’s me access the backend.

That’s the only way it works.

multisite does not control other WP installs in pother web host accounts. that is not what it is for.

It is one install, one webhost account.

you still did not follow the steps I asked you to do.

Go to Super Admin -> Sites.
Add a new site.
Give it a completely new name. Call it test, call it andrea, call it mrmaggo.
Do not map it, do not pass go.

Ok, I just added a new domain, this time within the same server account, and added a new domain in the superadmin, no mapping yet.

The url of the super added site is: downtownbuggy.playground23.com

But it has a wordpress installation it self (downtownbuggy.com).
I thaught it had to be that way. But now that I checked again, you wrote the concept of mu is 1 installation, and here we have 2 installations. I did this because in another site was explained that it’s the only way to have under wp3.0, mapped domains.

No. whatever site you read that on is monstrously incorrect or you misunderstood what they meant. Where did you read this?

Remove the web account for downtownbuggy.com.

Go to the cpanel for playground23.com. PARK downtownbuggy.com on it.

Go to the admin area of playground23.com.

Install the domain mapping plugin.

Follow the actual real steps.

the whole point of multisite is to use ONE installation.

Every single issue you had in this thread is because you were looking in a second install.

Yep, it’s my fault to not have told you from the begining that I had two wp installations.
I’m new to this, and I thaught that multisite tutorial was correct. Realy sorry about that.

Well I followed your instructions and on otto’s site.

It took me a little longer because in the meanwhile appeared another server issue I had to fix first, so I had to re-install from scratch everything and remove old installation files.

Anyways, otto’s instructions didn’t work exactly at the begining –some basic infos were missing, at least for me as new comer. So I found them elsewhere, and continued with otto.
Now, everything is working perfectly!
