Cannot modify header information in wp-dp file

  • Hi,

    I have been running a fairly recent version of wordpress for several months now without a glitch. Fantastic software! However I recently started getting the following error when trying to add / modify a post.

    I have checked the WordPress FAQ’s and the support forums for this problem and have tried everything that’s been suggested i.e. removing any whitespace (using Dreamweaver). I’m not able to find a specific support post for the page/s that seem to cause the problem. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • I have the same problem. When I try to post an entry or write a page I get the following error message:

    WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 2]
    INSERT INTO wp_post2cat (post_id, category_id) VALUES (472, )

    Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /wp-includes/wp-db.php:102) in /wp-admin/post.php on line 127

    I checked to see if there are any white spaces in wp-db.php, I deleted the file and uploaded a new one, but it’s not working.

    Despite the error message, the posts are showing on the blog.

    Any idea what the problem might be? Thanks so much.

    Hey – is your blog hosted on Dreamhost, by any chance? ?? They had a MySQL server outage… maybe there’s nothing wrong with WP, after all:

    I don’t – I’m using Network Solutions (will check their status). Hope it solves it for you though. Has the error now dissapeared?

    strange – above just seems to happen with one particular post?

    I got a response from Dreamhost, and it looks like the error is not caused by the MySQL server outage – which brings me back to WP.

    Before having the current problems with MySQL I installed a couple of plugins – and I wonder if any of them might have caused the problem:

    – Drop-down categories
    – Permalink Redirect

    … and I was trying to install Filosofo’s Home-Page Control when I got the error message ??

    I also edited the sidebar.php for the current theme, 3k2, in order to see how the drop-down categories plugin is working.

    I disabled all the plugins, I changed the theme, I deleted and re-installed 3k2 – but I keep getting the same error.

    Should I try to reinstall WordPress- the new version, 2.0.3?

    I’m not sure what to suggest cbasturea – I have not managed to solve the problem yet and have not had a great deal of response from other members? So I’m a bit stuck.

    I have some plugins installed, home page plugin and category ordering plugin. They have all been running fine though as far as I’m aware.

    I’ll let you know if I crack it!
