Polylang: Cannot modify header information (class.wp-styles.php:225)

  • Hello WordPress Developers,

    I’m not able to fix a problem with Polylang plugin.
    After activation Polylang plugin I receive an error:

    Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at C:\xampp\htdocs\my-project\wp-includes\class.wp-styles.php:225) in C:\xampp\htdocs\my-theme\wp-includes\pluggable.php on line 1216

    I have checked my theme in terms of empty lines at the very end of php files (including wp-config.php), but no results. Morover, I have tested previous versions of polylang but still not working.

    Would you mind any ideas how to fix it or at least are you able to recommend a nice free plugin to translate wordpress site (Custom Post Type translations are required)?

    My WordPress version is: 4.9.6
    Installed plugins: Akisment, Hello Dolly, CF7 and… Polylang
    PHP Ver: 7.1.8

  • Switch to a standard theme, like Twenteseventeen, and check again.
    If the error disapears, you have to debug your theme.
    By the way, to make CF7 compatible with Polylang you need an extra plugin (search for CF7 and Polylang in the plugin repository).

    I’ve uninstalled CF7 and still not working.
    When I change theme to Twentyseventeen, plugin works OK, but well… I’m not very glad with this solution. I’m checking my theme and still looking for…

    You can only find the solution within your theme. There is something wrong. Not with Polylang.
