I’ve installed wordpress before manually and it worked fine. But I am getting a message I have never seen before when I go to my domain to set up the database:

Warning: require(..some gibberish../my_host/my_subfolder/wp-includes/post.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in ../my_host/my_subfolder/wp-settings.php on line 127 Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘..some gibberish../my_host/my_subfolder/wp-includes/post.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php-5.3.13/lib/php’) in ..some gibberish../my_host/my_subfolder/wp-settings.php on line 127

I downloaded 4.0 directly from the www.remarpro.com. Uploaded it to my server/subfolder. Pointed the domain there. Changed the wp-config to have my database information. And I’ve done this whole process 3 times, and I cannot figure out whats going on.

  • did you check that the directory and/or file is there?

yep… they were all there. The ‘some gibberish’ part I had never seen before, and didn’t know what it was referring to, I left it out for security sake. But the files where in my subfolder on my server, so I’m not sure why they weren’t working.

…so I’m not sure why they weren’t working.

does this mean it is working now?

    I’m an idiot.

I double checked and it one of the files wasn’t there. I could have sworn it was there before I made this post.

Even though FileZilla didn’t give me an error, and said all files were transferred, some got lost.

Sorry to waste your time! Thanks for the help!

glad to be of help. please mark this resolved.
