    Hi

I have followed the instructions, have created a new discord role, the bot is connected, but the Role Mappings tab is empty (No Discord Roles and no Ultimate Member roles) with the wheel by the “Application details” in the menu constantly spinning. Similarly, the Default Role is “None” (and there is no other role to choose from).

    Any suggestions?

    Regards,

    Andreas Lazaris

    Hi Andreas,

The “Unknown Guild” error typically indicates that the provided Server ID might be incorrect. Let’s troubleshoot this together:

    • Server ID Verification: Please double-check that the Server ID you’ve entered matches the correct Discord server where you’ve set up the bot and the role mappings.
    • OAuth2 Setup: Ensure that you’ve correctly added the necessary URLs in the OAuth2 settings, especially under the Redirections section. These URLs are crucial for authenticating and authorizing the bot’s access to your Discord server.
    • Console Error Checking: Additionally, could you please check for any console errors in your browser’s developer console? Sometimes, console errors can provide more specific details about what might be going wrong.

There is some progress but not ready yet.

In the “Role Mappings” tab, I can see one Discord role I created for the specific server, but no Ultimate Member roles are displayed.

I tested with the latest version of UM 2.8.5, and the UM roles are loaded in mapping Discord roles to UM roles.
Could you please check the value of the option_name in the wp_options table: um_roles?

Could you help me on that? Where should I look for the table um_roles?

    (@vanbom)

    Table wp_options
    search for option_name = um_roles

    Hi,

The value of um_roles in wp_options table is:

    a:2:{i:0;s:6:"member";i:1;s:5:"admin";}

so, you have a UM role named ‘member’ you should have it in Role mapping

    (@andreasml)

No, there are no roles displayed in the UM roles list. There is just one role with a different name in the Discord Roles list (see the image underneath).

Please add more UM roles and check.

Alternatively, do you have a live website or a local one?

    (@andreasml)

There are plenty of roles in UM. You can see here:

Could you kindly confirm whether the column ‘UM Custom Role’ should ideally have the value ‘Yes’ or not

    (@andreasml)

You are right. Do you know how my role titles may become UM Custom Roles?

Hi and thanks again for your support.

The issue was sorted somehow. I had to create a new user role through UM, as the existing roles are not UM Custom Roles (and unfortunately, they cannot be converted to UM Custom Roles). By the way, why are only the UM Custom Roles displayed in the list? Can’t it be the same for the other roles?

Another issue I noticed now is that although everything seems okay, the user connected through the website to the specific server does not appear in the members list of this specific Discord server. Is this expected? I thought that the plugin allows the website user to connect to a specific Discord server through the website. Am I missing something?
