Hi, I have installed the nextgen galleries plugin and then wp-greet plugin. Sorry for the basic question I am new to this. How do I make it work after that? I have created a gallery, and tried configuring the wp-greet plugin. It doesn’t seem to work. Can someone please help me? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Well did you follow the description at https://www.tuxlog.de/wordpress/2008/wp-greet-documentation-english/
It is a bit out of date but should cover the basics.

I installed the plug-in and cannot make it run either. The two pages work, but won’t link. If I click on an image, the form doesn’t show. Could you please help me out?

hey, did you follow the english description to setup the plugin?
To link a gallery you have to go to the admin dialog of wp-greet. On the galleries page you can select the galleries you want to be connected to wp-greet and then click save.

I tried to visit your page but it seems to be in maintenance mode, so I can’t have a look in detail.

Hi, yes i did all that. I deactiveted the maintainance mode, so if you plesae could take a look? The page greet is also in the meny for now, maybe it helps to see what the problem is?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Linda,

first the good news it seems wp-greet and ngg are doing well and the images can be found.
The link looks allright but the page is still not found.

Do you have a security plugin or changed something in your .htaccess file to prevent URL’s using GET parameters to be executed?
Seems the URL https://www.luxelei.nl/greet/?gallery=2&image=https://www.luxelei.nl/wp-content/gallery/mycards/i-love-my-bike.jpg is not found because everything after the ? is ignored or interpreted as something wrong.

No, I dont have a security plugin and changed nothing in .htaccess file. The strange thing is that the link works if i change the url to https://www.luxelei.nl/greet/?nggallery=2&image=https://www.luxelei.nl/wp-content/gallery/mycards/i-love-my-bike.jpg.

so if i write ng between ? and gallery..

Ah okay, can you give me the settings from the nggallery Options General page please. I have an idea.

    Gallery path = wp-content/gallery/
Delete image files when removing gallery = check
Activate permalinks = When you activate this option, you need to update your permalink structure one time. Gallery slug name : gallery
Select graphic library = GD library check
Activate media rss feed = blank
    Activate piclens/coollris = blank
    Activate related images = blank
    Match with tags

    You mean this?

    Or style editor?

Yes thats what I meant. Thank you. Well, but even with this I can not reproduce the problem at my test site. There must be something special in your setup. What other plugins do you use?

    luxelei,
Did you get it to work because I am having exactly the same problem.
If I add ng before gallery it works or if I remove gallery=2 it also works. Please advise what you did to fix it?

Hey, there if you use NGG v2.0.x you have to use wp-greet latest version and follow the instructions given in the admin dialog. Due to the heavy redesign with NGG >=v2.0.0 and the many problems they have with it.

You have to change a file and select the correct lightbox effect. wp-greet displays what to do when you activate it.

    Hope it helps

I took the latest index.php from the patch folder and changed the lightbox effect to shutter. It is linking whereas before it was opening up the lightbox – but when you link it gets a page that doesn’t exist

Well, what page did you setup as the form page? And does it exist?
