Cannot make blog posts appear on homepage

Hi– I’m using a theme called Chameleon and I want to have the nice features slider that’s on the homepage, but also for the blog posts to appear under that. I see I can make ANOTHER page the default page, but if I do, the nice featured slider goes away. There is an option in Settings > Reading to make the home page show blost posts (as opposed to setting a static page) but no matter what I try, they do NOT appear there. I’m just trying to get a framework down and have dummy info on there. ANy ideas for me? THanks, Mark
