• I am totally lost and need some help.

My site is down – I believe due to some updates I made to plugins earlier today. Now I cannot access WP admin to deactivate these plugins.

I have attempted to get into my FTP via Filezilla, and I think I successfully connected to my Bluehost hosted site, but I do not see any files named “wp-content” (or wp-anything).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

My main goal is to deactivate my plugins without access to WP admin.

There should be three directories in the root of your WordPress:
    wp-admin
    wp-content
    wp-ibcludes

My main goal is to deactivate my plugins without access to WP admin.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

You can probably use the File Manager in the Control Panel provided by Bluehost to rename the plugins directory which should be under wp-content.

You might also ask Bluehost for help getting your FTP client to work if it isn’t working properly.

Your file manager might be easier if your FTP client is working but doesn’t seem to be reaching your site files. Sometimes FTP clients default to the Linux system root or some other directory. That can be confusing.
