• I cannot login to my admin on my laptop only using explorer and FF, other computers are fine.

Each time I get the login screen then after the corect login I am redirected back to a blank login screen.

Also cannot access support forums as the same thing happens.

I have tried reinstalling FF, without virus software, clearing cookies, cache and basically anything.

I am hosted with Smartyhost and they have just upgraded to the latest available version of WP

    Any Help Pls!

  • Oh wow – see, I’m not having trouble with my desktop at least! Nor was I having trouble with the one I had in May (which died in June, this is the new one).

    Jeez. Gremlins.

It seams a bit of a roundabout doesn’t it?

I’m all up to date with XP SP2 and latest FF but all the desktops do work. I’m running thes same software on both.

Sound a bit too fishy that both IE & FF are off…

Oh. And just for infos, my machines are completely clean. I run a mega-suite of spybot, adware, virus, etc. apps, on a daily basis. AND both of these XP installs were onto clean formatted drives early June.

I am appealing to my hosting company for assistance right now…I’ll let you know if they have any ideas.

So far the only thing they can suggest is a problem in the page scripting…I’m not sure I buy that but don’t have any other alternatives.

? Well, maybe, since you’re having the same problem on both desktop and laptop. But not for me….

I seem to have the same problem on my laptop, but its a mac. Pulling my hair out. Just been sent my admin name and password but it seems to be incorrect.

I’m not sure if this will effect anyone else, but I found that I needed to override the default cookie handling in IE and allow cookies before my login would work properly. All the other fixes I’ve seen on the forum did not work. Good Luck.

Hi jimpro. I tried that myself, though I wasn’t having a singular problem – ALL my browsers were doing it – and it didn’t help me. It might (we hope!) help others.

I have gone through HUNDREDS of google results on this sort of thing with no resolution….

    Finally I have a solution….

Just accessed my router and found the firewall had reverted to default with cookies being filtered.

Reset without firewall and it runs like a dream!!

Thanks guys for all your help, hopefully this may help other out there with the same problem.

    Cheers
