Cannot login to admin

  • Hello! I have a site wp blog that loads just fine, but I cannot log in to. I have another wp blog that is just fine, I can load it AND log in to it. They are both hosted by godaddy.

    The one that I can’t login to is https://www.carolaskan.com
    The one that works just fine is https://www.hellifino.com

    I have not changes any admin settings (or any settings for that matter) on either site in weeks. The one that i can’t login to was just fine 12 hours ago.

    I get “The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.” from Firefox and “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” from Internet explorer when I try and login.

    Any ideas?

  • Yes – we’d heard that Fat Cow was under attack. ??

    In this situation, all of their available resources will probably be taken up with fending off the attack. At least you know that they are working hard to protect your site(s) and your content. Try to sit tight for a couple of days and, in most cases, you’ll find that the attacks will cease and your problems will resolve themselves automatically.

    Again thank you all for helping this old guy. I jokingly hope that it is impossible to get carpal tunnel syndrome in your thumbs.

    I use IPower as my web hosting co and I just contacted support. They are having issues with their servers which is causing users not to be able to use WordPress. FYI—

    I got this yesterday from Godaddy Support:

    Thank you for contacting Online Support. I understand that you are having issues accessing the administrative side of your site. We are aware of this at this time. There is an industry wide attack trying to access WordPress and Joomla administration areas and while we mitigate this attack you will not have access to these areas. Once the attack is over you will have access again and recommend that you take this time to change your administrative password. Please make sure you use a strong password.

    A strong password should contain:
    – Be 8-14 characters
    – Include small letter
    – Include capital letter
    – Include number
    – Start with a letter
    – Contain a special character that is one of the following ! @ # %

    The password CANNOT contain any of the following * ) ( – = * )

    Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.

    I was able to login to my admin panel last night and change my password. I logged in and out several times after that. But today I again cannot log in, so I’m guessing the attack is still going on. ??

    Yes it is. It may last for days or even weeks. ??
