Cannot login globally after upgrade to 3.2.1

Hi, after upgrade from 3.1.3 to 3.2.1 on a multi site users can no longer login as they used to via https://root.site/wp-login.php

They recieve the splash screen telling them that they do not have access to the admin panel for the root site, with a link to their website and adminpanel though.

Before the upgrade users was automatically routed to user.root.site/wp-admin/ after logging in through the root sites wp-login.php

I’ve tried to find info but to no avail. Anyone seen this?
