    Hi,
I am able to install wordpress (after manually configuring the wp-config.php). I am unable to login as admin however. Every time I do this it gives me an “autogenerated” password, and then I attempt to login using that password and it simply displays the login page again.
I double-checked my mysql database and the password is assigned to the user and the user exists.
Interesting issue, however, is that if I create other users, their passwords are “encrypted” but the admin password shows up verbatim. This seems wrong to me and I’d guess is part of the problem with not being able to log in.
    Please HELP!

I’m guessing you’re running a nightly build. You may need to run upgrade.php to fix up the admin account. I guess that the install password isn’t being encrypted when it’s generated, and this needs to be fixed.

Okay this was a double problem, install.php wasn’t calling the correct functions or encoding the generated password and even if the password was encoded the table structure wasn’t big enough for the new passwords. Both are fixed in the latest nightly.

by latest nightly, do you mean tonight’s build? So if I pick up tomorrow’s build, this will be fixed? ??

Actually sometimes “nightlies” are generated a couple of times a day, so I updated today’s and it should be good.
