Cannot Login after Install

  • After much difficulty, I finally got the install page working and signed up for wordpress on my site: juliaritchey.com. I got the e-mail from wordpress confirming my new site and login. I then did the automatic upgrade on the dash to 3.03 after signing in and navigated away from wordpress for a short period. Now when I try to return to login I get the same error 404 page I’ve been dealing with all week before install.php started working. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  • Is this a self install or use a one click installer?

    I’d check your htaccess file hasn’t got some redirects in place. If have one temporarily rename it. This will help identify if there is issues with the file. If the site works then check your access, if it doesn’t then rename the file afterwards.

    I self-installed WP 3.03 FTPing through Filezilla. .htaccess doesn’t seem to be visible in Filezilla, so I’m unsure of how to do that.

    You encountering the 404 after logging in or before??
    I just checked and am able to see your login page…

    Okay, it’s working for me now as well. Not sure what happened to make it come up, but oh well. Thanks for the help!
