• For the last couple days, I have not been able to log into my dashboard, we get:

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

I have tried access in IE 10 and Firefox. I have renamed the Themes and Plugin folders and still no access.

This started happening about a month ago when saving posts. It would give me the reconnection error when I went to save. Then it seemed that the auto save worked, and I just never hit save.

Now I cannot access the dashboard, and at one point the site went to a white page.

I tried working with Godaddy support, but they claim it is a wordpress problem.

I did try a few other suggestions that I found on the forum, but nothing seems to work.

    The site is https://blog.donnagalanti.com/wp

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    Thanks
    I have tried that too.
I also tried renaming the plugin folder to reset the plugins

Your site is not using the 2013 theme and has multiple active plugins.

OK, I just renamed the theme (Its Pilcro) and now I have the white screen of death for the website.
Yes, there are multiple active plugins.

Please reset the plugins folder as I suggested above.

    This is done now.

Re-upload a fresh, unpacked, copy of the Twenty Thirteen folder to wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

Right now, I’m struggling to understand how you managed to switch to the Twenty Thirteen theme previously…

OK, I am still not able to login or view the site.

Should I download and install the “current” version of Pilcrow theme, which is the theme the site uses?

Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.

    I have this
[Mon Aug 05 13:40:12 2013] [error] [client 103.14.200.77] ModSecurity: Access denied with connection close (phase 3). Pattern match “block” at TX:evalaction. [file “/web/httpd2/modsecurity.d/activated_rules/modsecurity_gd_07_post_guardian.conf”] [line “40”] [id “10706”] [msg “BLOCKED – Bot detected! Known Botnet Template”] [hostname “XXXXXXXXX.com”] [uri “/wp/wp-login.php”] [unique_id “UgANq7iomGMAAD5WQc0AAAD7”]

That shouldn’t be causing a problem on your site but you may want to contact your hosts and ask them about it.
