    Hello,

I set up the Multisite and so far everything is working good. I set up a new site via Super Admin. I used Donncha’s WordPress MU Domain Mapping plugin. I set everything up with that. When I go to the new mapped site it loads up fine. However, when I try to log in it just reloads the page. Here is what is in the url:

    https://url.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=https://url.com/wp-admin/&reauth=1
(not sure if this matters but Opera shows:
    https://url.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Furl.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1 )

I have tried clearing my cookies and cache. I’ve tried multiple browsers. I’ve tried it with and without “Remote Login” and “Redirect administration pages…” in the plugins configuration. I’ve tried with different users (even made a new one). I’ve tried to reset password but I never receive an email.

This was set up on an existing blog so I use subdomains for the MU. When I go to abc.url.com (the new sites url) it doesn’t pull up anything. So I went into “sites” in “Super Admin” and I changed it to the site that I want https://abc.com. I think this may be where things messed up, but it does pull up that “abc.com” just fine..

The reason I did this was because when I go to “domains” in “Super Admin” it doesn’t show any domains and won’t let me add any.

    Thanks for the help!

    Dave

this is your problem. You have to have the sites working fully before you can map them. And you don’t map them by editing the domain name there.

Subdomain blogs require wildcard subdomains to be set up both on the server ask your webhost) and in your DNS records (make one that looks like *.yourdomain.com)

Undo what you did. Get the subdomains working.

Ah, I swear that always happens. I’ll sit and mess with something over and over and cannot find a solution, make a post, and then within minutes figure out my answer.

When I go to “Domains” in “Super Admin” I had to set the id to “2” (I was trying “1” because it doesn’t show any domains.. but I am assuming 1 is for my main site).

    Thanks anyway!

    Hey Andrea,

I don’t know exactly how it worked, but so far everything seems to be working fine. I hope I don’t run into any issues down the road :O (although these extra sites I am doing are going to be very basic).

    Thanks!

    Dave
