Cannot log in to administer

  • Since the last update of version 3.0, I cannot do anything but post. My saved password allows me to post, to look at my profile (checked email addy, etc.) and see list of users, most of the useful stuff. However, it will not allow me to log in to the general controls of my site. No user name password combos work, I have tried them all. So I tried to get a new password, but no user nemae email address combos are considered valid.

    There is a lot of incorrect information and damages to repair and I can’t do a thing. What’s next? Move to a different blogging software?

    It sounds like your account may have lost admin privileges for some reason.

    Access your database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel), go to the wp_users table and find the row for your user_login . Note the ID of this row. Now, go to the wp_usermeta table and find the wp_capabilities row for your user_id . Set the value of this row to a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}
