Cannot log in sometimes despite correct password

  • Hi all,

    Sometimes when I try to log into my WordPress dashboard, the page just looks like it refreshes when I hit log-in. If I put in a bad password, the screen will shake and it’ll say bad password. But if I put in the correct password, it just appears as though the page refreshes (the user name and password fields will clear) and nothing happens.

    When I use a different browser – it SOMETIMES fixes the issue and I can then log in.

    Does anyone have any idea what’s causing this?

  • I run into this problem occasionally. Clearing cookies on my browser, clearing the caches on my WordPress caching plugin, and purging files from my CDN solve the issue. Also, I have page rules set up on my CDN so that caching is not used when I am logging in and using the Admin panel.
