• I have strange problems:

    1. My website does not update plugins no matter what method I use. I get errors like:

Update failed:0 or it ignores the check marks for multiple updates. When trying to upload a plugin: The link you followed has expired.

And although debug is set to true there is no debug.log file created.

    2. If I try to open my website on another browser, I cannot log in.

The login page just appears again.

    Background:

I am running my website on my private NAS, so I have access to basically everything that is not protected by the NAS OS.

This is really weird because initially I just installed my website on a new NAS with much better hardware than my old NAS. They are from different manufacturers running different OSs based on Linux.

In any case, when I experienced the problem on my new NAS I logged out and now cannot log in again.

So I transferred my website with database to my old NAS and now I have exactly the same update and login problems. But this time I kept the original login open.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Presumably you have lot of disk space?

Can you read the php error logs to get more detailed information?

Did you go through your permissions?

Thanks for the error log settings. I am lucky that the current old NAS is from Synology so all of that was easy to accomplish.

But I was not able to create an error that shows up in the log.

Assuming that I have all the settings correct, I did almost exactly as you showed but with a different volume no., it seems my problems are not created by php failures.

Permissions were more generous than they should be and not more restrictive.

Because I did not get any php error message logs, I tried something else: looking at the browser console messages:

    POST https://ll555.net/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php 400 (Bad Request)

This is consistently the same error no matter whether I try to update using my open website admin nor when I try to log in on a new browser.

However, the many detailed steps within are vastly different.
