• Hi,

    I can’t load the plugin page (…wp-admin/plugin.php) in the admin left panel. It will take a long time to load and eventually go to a white screen. When I right click and view source, this is what I get:

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN”>
    <HTML><HEAD>
    <META http-equiv=Content-Type content=”text/html; charset=windows-1252″></HEAD>
    <BODY></BODY></HTML>

    It happened the same for my themes admin page when I first installed WP 2.9.2, hence I downgraded to WP 2.8.6 .It works okay thereafter for the theme but still persists for plugin.

    Is it due to incompatibility to my PHP version?

    Here’s my server specs:
    PHP Version 5.2.0
    Apache/2.2.3 (Win32)
    MySQL version 5.0.22

    Please help, thank you.

    You meet all of the requirements, but you may have caused some problems when you downgraded. Try upgrading to 2.9.2 again, and we’ll work from there.

    Actually, I installed the WordPress 2.8.6 version in the same database. The 2.9.2 version is still active but the pages take a long time to load. Most of the time, this message will appear on the bottom of the frame (Waiting for https://&#8230;./wp-admin/plugins.php..)
    A white screen eventually pops.

    Here’s a breakdown of which features in admin panel that fail to load:

    Version 2.9.2
    – Appearance-> Themes
    – Appearance-> Add New Themes
    – Plugins -> Installed

    Version 2.8.6
    – Plugins -> Installed

    Is it due to script incompatibility? Kinda lost looking at the scripts.

    Try manually deactivating all of your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    I followed the manual steps. I created an empty plugins folder and it can load the admin page (plugins.php).
    The moment I upload a plugin (via backend) and refresh the page, it’ll refuse to load the admin page. Even the default plugins (askimet and hello.php) doesn’t work.

    What’s the purpose of the index.php that comes default in the plugins folder?
