Cannot install plugins on new wordpress site

Hi All,

I am installing a new wordpress site on one of my virtual servers and I am unable to install or get plugins/updates. When you click on plugins I get an internal server error. In the logs it says the following: I have confirmed that the site url is correct, and I have enabled debugging and this is the only error I get. Most people say this is a network issue however I am having trouble pinpointing the exact cause. Please help ??
