    Hi Tobias,

I cannot get the plugin to work with excel 2007 tables.

What I do seems easy enough. Just to test, I have made a table. With 3 rows and 3 columns. I put the following content inside these cells: a1, a2, a3, b1, b2, b3 etc.

I save the file as CSV. And try to import it.

But I always get the following errormessage:

    Fout: De import is mislukt.

    This means something like:

    Error: the import failed.

    What could be wrong?

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Can you maybe upload the CSV file somewhere and post a link, so that I can take a look? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Sure! Thank you for your reply.

All I did was take a simple table, 3×3 and save it as .csv

    Here is the link:

    link!

    Hi,

thanks! Everything in that file looks correct, and when I try to import it on my test sites, that works totally fine…
Are you chose the correct file during the upload? What happens if you try the URL method with the link that you posted above?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

That is indeed strange. When I try it by copy pasting the link, and selecting import format CSV, it works!

But when I download that same file again, just to be sure, and then choose to upload the file to tablepress and set import format to csv and hit the importbutton, it gives me the error again.

So, at least uploading it works, thats great! But it would be much nicer if there was a fix for this curious problem.

    Hi,

I can only assume that there’s something weird going on in the server configuration then, as I’ve never really seen this elsewhere before…
Most likely the uploaded file can not be read by WordPress or something like that…
I can try to take a direct look at this to see if I can find something, if you want. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

thanks! Just as I thought, there’s a problem in the server configuration here. I’ll send you more information via email, as that doesn’t belong here.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks! Can you use the emailadress I mailed you with, instead of the blog automessage, for your reply?

    I am very curious!

    Hi,

    sure, used that ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
