    Hello

Since the 3.0 Woocommerce update and the PayPal Express latest updates I had an issue with the PayPal button for some reason not appearing on the cart page. People could put things into their cart but there was no button to press to get them to PayPal. I have eventually managed to get this sorted and the PayPal button is now present on the cart page. (There is no checkout page – I have this set as cart as well).

However, when this button is clicked instead of being take to PayPal to pay for the products Woocommerce brings up this error:

Billing First name is a required field.
Billing Last name is a required field.
Billing Address is a required field.
Billing Town / City is a required field.
Billing Postcode is a required field.
Billing Phone is a required field.
Billing Email address is a required field.

If people click the button to go to PayPal directly from a product there is no problem at all, but trying to go to PayPal from the cart page brings up the above error.

Obviously there is some issue with Woocommerce wanting billing information before letting the customer go to PayPal but I am really stuck on this any any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes hosting providers have caching / CDN built in to their packages, so please make sure that’s not going on. Again, though, we’re looking into this.

No – We run our own LEMP stack on a Ubuntu server. No hoster involved.

The only caching we do is Memcache for database speed up.

We are still looking into this trying to reproduce the problem. We’ll update again when we have more info. Shouldn’t be long.

@angelleye – it seems to be affecting quite a lot of users who are trying to use Paypal Express.

We are getting quite a lot of these error emails.

We’re going to need more info about how to reproduce this then. We are unable to reproduce it at this point.

Have you tried disabling other plugins temporarily to see if the issue goes away?

What I don’t understand is this error should never occur when using Paypal Express – as the customer will fill in the details in paypal express page or login. So the plugin should not be worrying about missing info as that is the expected behaviour.

Site has not been changed other than updating to woo 3.0.6 and paypal for woo to 1.4.3 – I never had any of these errors before.

Yes, it’s very confusing to us too. There is no reason your cart page should be doing any sort of validation like that all. It really makes no sense, and even more so that we cannot reproduce it.

You said nothing else has changed except for updating WC to 3.0.6 and our plugin, but what about your other plugins? You very well could have a different plugin activated that is not yet compatible with WC 3.0, for example. I would try disabling everything except for WC and PayPal for WC to see if the issue goes away, by chance.

For those of you having this problem, please go to WooCommerce -> Settings -> General, and let me know how you have the option for “Default customer location” set.

We believe we have resolved this issue in the release branch on GitHub. The fix will be included in the 1.4.5 update we’ll be releasing soon. If you’d like to grab it early you can use that link to download and update manually. It would be great if someone could verify this does indeed resolve your issue. Thanks!

Per our in-house testing this is resolved and will be included in the 1.4.5 update I’ll be releasing shortly.
