I just wanted to upload a mailing list form from mailchimp. I got the code from mailchimp, installed it, tested it, but it didn’t work. I found out I have to upload all of mailchimp via ftp into my plugins at wordpress. So I did that. Then I activated it. It instructs me to go to settings and find the ‘mailchimp setup’ there. It’s not anywhere in the Dashboard settings. What have I now done wrong. Can’t anything with WordPress ever be simple, direct, intuitive, easy? Please tell me, somebody, what I did wrong? my site: https://stephenjcarter.com Thanks.

MailChimp setup? Looks like you’re talking about another plugin.

To install MailChimp for WordPress (the UNofficial MailChimp plugin), just head over to the plugin settings and fill in your API key. You can get this key by following a link in the settings screen.

That’s all there is to it. ??

No, that is not all there is to it. I exchanged 22 emails this weekend with an adviser at GitHub on installing a mailchimp form. He had to go into my wp-admin repeatedly trying to clear up the problems, the confusion, the crossed wires, it is ANYTHING but simple & easy. I still cannot input a mailchimp key that I create a mailchimp. I bring it over, input it, and it registers immediately as ‘invalid key’ … over & over & over & over. I create new keys, & try those, & they didn’t work either. Just like everything at my website, nothing from WordPress works as promised, absolutely nothing. I’ve never had such a negative working relationship from start to finish, from the first setup, the hosting, the FTP, the Frisco fiasco software which I tried to working with but is now sitting unusable on my dashboard. Really, not a single step in this process has been easy, or simple, and always people help me but it takes days, hours day after day to resolve each so-called simple problem. So my plugin over at plugin settings still will not accept any key I input. The adviser has to input it and it accepts it when he does it. He says it must be a cookie problem at my end. I suppose so. But I’m having no problems with anything else on my computer, just WordPress and this ugly website. Really dog ugly website, and endless problems that never get resolved.

Well, sorry to hear that. Obviously not everyone is having the same experience.

I am rather curious to take a look though, so if you feel like it feel free to drop me an email at [email protected] (my full last name).
