• Hi Simon,

I’ve had a good look through all the past posts but I cannot find the solution. I am using Version 1.7.1 and can get the playlist player to work in an additional sidebar area I put into the main content of a new template and in any other widget area in Twenty Eleven theme.
I cannot, however, get any sound to play using a shortcode to the single player anywhere within the theme. I have checked over and over to see if the URl is correct, changed it every which way removing slashes and folders to see if I had got the structure wrong, and moved the tracks into different folders including a Default Folder in the root of the site and not in the wordpress folder.
All I get is the number 1 and the image of the play button to show. If I press this the Pause image shows and a thin vertical bar ( which I think normally goes red if the file is located ) which flickers occasionally.
I have been at this for hours now and have tried the FEED:DF and FEED:/music routes as well as the “/filename.mp3” with and without the forward slash as mentioned in another post.
It’s 3.30 am here now and my eyes are bleeding ! Please put me out of my misery as I expect I am missing something really simple.

Oh, I’m testing the site on MAMP, OSX 10.5.8 and it appears to happen across all browsers – for Mac anyway – if that makes a difference.

In the meantime, thanks for a great playlist plug-in.

    Cheers, L2k11

Have just discovered that I can get the player to appear AND PLAY with a track name if I use FEED:LIB but it will only show the last track in the Library. I have uploaded all my other tracks ( working in the Playlist player ) through the media tab of the WordPress admin panel.

    Hi L2k11,
if this is still unresolved please try this single player shortcode to test whether the player works or not:

    [mp3j track="www.sjward.org/mp3/test.mp3"]

It should play a single file from my domain (make sure you have the ‘allow remote mp3’s’ option ticked on the settings page). If not send me a link and i’ll have a look.

    Hi Simon,

Thanks for coming back to me on this. I went without the single player in the end.

However have just tested it with the ‘allow remote mp3’s’ option ticked and it worked first time on my local site. Didn’t have to try your URL or alter my original shortcode. I can use absolute URLs for the single players in the meantime and will try again when I have time to see what I did wrong with the relative addresses.

many thanks again for great plug-in.

    Cheers, L2K11

PS If you like Jazz and you find yourself in London in October then check out https://www.revoicefestival.com (shameless plug ) that my friend is organising. I’ve used your playlist jplayer on the Listen page.

Thanks for letting me know, I think i’ll have to go thru these options again and make sure i’m not screwing something up.

Anyone else having probs with the ‘allow remote mp3’ option?

    Simon
