• Office Wife The archive pages, earlier, and not sure how many months forward, there is a link on the left hand side, in the background, barely visible. I did not put it there and I cannot find where it is in the pages to delete it.

    I had a client point it out to me, I have combed the pages, but still not real familiar with the structure. Where can it be hidden?

    HELP. This is driving me nuts. Where else do I look?

  • Some kind of javascript having to do with bank SWIFT codes – do you have any plugins related to that?

    <a onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','https://swift-code-lookup.com']);" href="https://swift-code-lookup.com">all Codes bank</a>
    </div>

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Did not work, still there.

    and it ends in archives Feb 2011. Why?

    Why cannot I find it? what page is the script on?

    Thank you.

    Can we see your site using the default 2012 theme?

    I have not set it up for the default 2012 theme. But I can if it will help, the only pages effected are the archives pre Feb 2011

    It is on line 122 of your html.
    <div style="position:absolute;top:-200px;left:-200px;"><a href="https://swift-code-lookup.com">all Codes bank</a> </div>

    It is with some other ads which I don’t see on the site. Were you running ads?

    Thank you, but which html? Cuz I set it over to the 2012 default theme and the link is gone.

    I was not running ads. But last year someone hacked my site, not once but twice.

    I am going to stick with the default theme for now, till I figure this out. So if you can tell me which html page that it is on. Please.

    It is still there but hidden. I checked a few pages in the archive section – Dec 2010, line 82; Oct 2010, not there; Sept 2010, line 81; Aug 2010, line 79.

    and esmi, how is that going to help me delete the java script hiding in my site?

    I need to know where to go to remove it and so far no one has told me which page to go to.

    Kmessinger, what page are you finding the java script? I do not know where you are looking.

    PLEASE tell me which pages to edit.

    Thank you.

    Unfortunately no one here can find that javascript for you or tell you exactly where it is – as we do not have access to your site files. It’s not on an HTML page – WP does not have static HTML pages. Esmi’s point is that if you did not completely clean up the site and close any “backdoors” after the hack – it’s going to keep reappearing.

    The links above will help you find the javascript. Or if you cannot find it, you’ll need to hire someone – Securi is quite well regarded.

    I went back to the last archive in 2008 and found the html

    <!-- ~~ads~~ -->
    <div style="position:absolute;top:-200px;left:-200px;"><a href="https://swift-code-lookup.com">all Codes bank</a> </div>
    <p><!-- ~~ads~~ -->

    The domain name is parked – no real site there, just someone who offers the domain for sale. Swift code is a banking term. I cannot see where the script is coming from because that is on the back end. I see only the source code it produces.

    I need to know where to go to remove it and so far no one has told me which page to go to.

    We can’t. You have to go through the whole site in order to delouse it fully – which you do not seem to have done last time.

    so this means there is a hidden js somewhere? Terrific.

    This is old and I have changed things several times.

    How do I close my archives for that far back?

    Thank you all for your help.

    Did you work through the links I posted above?
