Cannot get restrict Add Page to work

Thanks for an exellent plugin.

I have one issue though.

I try to remove the possibility to add a new page for one of the user roles.
I select Pages under the main-menu-tab and check the create new checkbox.

When i log as that user role, that menu choice is gone, which is what i want, but also the menuchoice for viewing existing pages “all pages”, but that checkbox i never checked. And if i click on the pages-menuitem then i get a “you have no access” message.

If i try the opposite, uncheck create page, and check all pages, then the create page menu choice shows and all pages menuitem is hidden, as expected.

Please help. Anything i just do wrong or what?
