• Hi! It has been years since I first contacted you about this plugin and you were a great help then. I am revamping a site right now (cannot show you a link yet, sorry) and I tried to use this plugin to generate a pubmed list where I search by grant number. The search works in PubMed, but not in your plugin.

    The search term is:
    U54AR055073[Grant Number]

If you try this in pubmed you get 73 results. But when I include the shortcode in a page I get only a blank list of 1-20.

    Can you help?

    Thanks,
    Linda

    Hi Linda,

Sorry for the slow reply. I saw this but it got buried by a new class I’ve been teaching.

I just tried it and it works on my site: https://jimhu.org/wp-pubmed-reflist-scratch-page/

    Hi Jim

I still can’t get it to work. Do you want to look at the page? I did a test page so you can see what I mean:
    https://flowcyt.rutgers.edu/test-pubs-page/

This is not the site where it would ultimately go, but it behaves the same on that site too. I just wanted to show you on a live site.

    Thanks,
    Linda

So much for my hope that it had magically fixed itself…

It’s getting the right number of entries on your site (73). This make me wonder if the query is working but this the styles selection problem resurfacing. Have you tried reselecting and saving a reference format? Or using one in the shorttag?

    For example, use [pmid-refs key=’key_name’ style=NIH limit=100]

Where key_name is the query key. In other words, just add style=NIH inside whatever you have there now.

    Jim

Still doesn’t work. This is my shortcode now:

    [pmid-refs key=counteract style=NIH limit=100]

    Thanks for trying.

I assume you tried just hitting Save Changes on the queries admin page to force the cache to flush?

Based on your initial post – is this working on these sites for other queries that aren’t based on grant numbers?

Wish I could figure it out. But as you know, it’s hard to diagnose problems where the list works on my test sites without having access to things that are not publicly exposed – like error logs and the underlying database.

Jim, you beautiful human – you updated the plugin!! All is working now, you are the best!
