• Hi,

So I’m fairly new to WordPress and kind of just messing around at this point getting used to it. I found this awesome looking theme on the themes list but I cannot for the life of me get the hero image to work. In fact upon inspecting the page’s source code it doesn’t even look like it is creating that section of code. I have ‘Hide Hero’ unchecked in the options menu and I can see the settings are being set in my database but it doesn’t seem to be working at all.

My site can be found at https://blog.outerinfinity.com/.

Sorry if this is just something simple that I’m not getting, I usually understand this stuff pretty well, but I just for the life of me cannot get this to work.

    Thanks,
    Brandon

    13bgarli,

You are in the right place, you can control the entire hero section from within the WordPress customizer.

Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Home Hero Section and make sure to add an image. You can also add overlay text, a button and a button URL.

Please let me know if you have any more issues.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply modernthemesnet!

Unfortunately those are the settings that I’ve been working with but no matter what settings I put in I get the same result, no hero ever displayed on the page. Its very strange.

Anything else that could cause it not to appear?

    Thanks again,
    Brandon

I have got the same problem! Hero section doesn’t work properly as the image doesn’t display at all!

I had this same issue, but then I watched this tutorial: https://modernthemes.net/documentation/sensible-documentation/sensible-theme-setup/

I had forgotten to make my home page use the Home Page Template. Once that was added I was able to view the Hero Section.
