    Hello,
I am using Dara theme and trying to replicate the demo static page to set up the content slider. I have specified “featured” in the featured content page, published 2 posts and specified the featured image. Now the image is duplicated but in different positions within the same post.
Also, the side-bar menu is in the way; so the slider is not set to wide-view.
The slider is not working properly.

Hi, if you haven’t yet, I would suggest taking a read through the Dara Theme Showcase page which has setup information. The images that will show in the slider are those you have set as a “featured image” within the post. If you also have the same image inserted into the content area on the post, the featured image and the duplicate image within the post will show. I don’t know if that is what was happening on your site. I do not at this time see the slider on your main page.

    Hi Sacredpath,
Thanks so much for replying– I really do appreciate it. At this time, I’ve decided to relegate the content slider to a lower priority.
I am still very new to wordpress and setting up my static homepage using Dara.
If you take a look at the 3 Featured Images, they are not centered on the screen relative to the header.
    1) How can I modify the 3-Featured-Image margins so they are centered? Right now it looks too narrow on the left-side.
    2) The “Contact Information” widget: is not aligned with the content underneath (the email contact) and it looks bizarre. Is there a way to align these entries?

Hi @rainbowobsidiana – you need to use the Default template for your slider to appear. Right now, your homepage has the Full-width template applied. Let me know if changing the template gets the slider to come up.

    1) How can I modify the 3-Featured-Image margins so they are centered? Right now it looks too narrow on the left-side.

See how you get along first with the right template. Once it’s up and running, you can select your three featured pages in the Customizer’s Theme Options panel, and everything will be laid out evenly for you automatically.

    2) The “Contact Information” widget: is not aligned with the content underneath (the email contact) and it looks bizarre. Is there a way to align these entries?

If you want to centre your email address in the contact widget, try adding this to your custom CSS:

    #widget_contact_info-2 {
      text-align: center;
    }

    Hi Kathryn,
Thanks so much for your response. I have followed your trouble-shooting advice:

    re: Content Slider:
    1) I changed the homepage to “default template”. I also deleted the photo image that had been occupying the home page.
    2) I tagged my 3 blog posts with the tag “featured”, and also set a “featured image”
    3) the screen options for the posts are set to “2 columns”– I think default setting
… but I still do not see the content slider operating.

re: Centering the 3 Featured Images:
    1) I changed the homepage to “default template”
    2) the left-margin still looks narrow compared to the right side
    3) the images are set as “featured images” and are not set in the “page” section

    re: aligning Footer widget:
    1) added the CSS– worked brilliantly– thank you!

Lastly, I notice on the mobile site in Dara Theme, the 3 Featured Images do not show up– is this correct?

    Thank you again – ak

Thanks for running down the steps you’ve done so far. Let’s see what might still be missing.

    Featured Pages

    – In your Customizer’s Theme Options panel, have you selected three different pages, as you see in this screenshot:
Customize WP Test Site To End All Test Sites Not just another WordPress site

    – Does each of the pages you’ve selected have a featured image?

    Slider
    – Have you added the word featured in your Customizer’s Featured Content panel, like this:

Customize WP Test Site To End All Test Sites Not just another WordPress site 1
    – Does each of the posts you’ve tagged have a featured image that’s at least 1180px wide?

Ah, I just looked more closely at your site and I see that the three featured pages are actually appearing on the homepage, it’s just that the spacing is off because your images are too small. Try reuploading featured images that are at least 1180px wide. Things will look better both on the homepage and the individual pages as well.

    Kathryn!
Success!!! Thank you for sending the screen shot– I swear I had typed in “featured” in the Featured Content section, but you know after clicking through the customizer a billion times, it was there at one point and then it got deleted at another point.

RE: 3 Featured Images and Image size upload:
I hear what you’re saying. I tried it, but prefer the thumbnail sizes, so I will live with the margins as is for now.

Thank you again–sending you virtual flowers!

    Yay! My pleasure. ??

    Dear Kathryn!
I don’t see Featured content button in my Customizer…
    There are only

    Site identity
    Colors
    Header image
    Background image
    Menus
    Widgets
    Static Front Page
    Theme Options
    Additional CSS

    What’s wrong???
    Thanks for your help!

@wplova The Jetpack plugin is required to use Featured Content in Dara.
