• Hi. Newbie here. I set up wordpress with wamp on my PC yesterday, to try it out, and everything was working perfectly. I tried to continue today and the wamp icon has turned orange and I cannot login. I looked at the Apache error log and it shows an error ‘favicon does not exist’, but this is dated 6pm yesterday anyway when the system was working. Can anyone tell me what I is causing my problem now?

(edit: I changed the apache set up to use port 8080 and the icon has now gone back to green but I still get a 404 ‘not found’ error when I try to login to wordpress)

  • Why did you change the Apache port? You will now have to access your local sites by adding the port, e.g. https://localhost:8080/wordpress

The WAMP icon must be green (both Apache and MySQL running) to access anything on the server.
