• Timm –

I just downloaded & installed Edge Suite 0.6 yesterday and am having the same issue of “Cannot Find Main JS edge file Error Message.” I recognize that you resolved this with another user a few days ago, but it still is an issue for me. I’m also just learning Edge Animate for a project. I’ve inserted the Preloader to the Stage, as well as modified the Publish Settings as previously recommended.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Tim!

So, Timm, the workaround that I created was to:

    1) In Edge Animate, publish my composition as a web page;

    2) Upload the composition to my website via FTP (https://timmulholland.com/Parallax/Teardrop)

    and,

    3) In my WordPress editor, create my new page and insert an embed code to the composition that I want to include into my WordPress site – voila! ??

This is just a “test” for me as a way to explore my work, etc. You can view it here:

    And, the password is “test”

I’m a photographer, not a JS expert, but this was a relatively straight-forward way for me to address this issue. I don’t know how well this might work for anyone else…

Thanks for sharing your solution. Please take a look at the other issues in the issue queue. As stated there, a dev version of the plugin is available which solves this problem which got introduced through the latest EA update.

    Dear Tim,

I uploaded your zip (0.6) which apparently is different from the 0.6 update from the WP-plugins-site (also called 0.6). Then indeed my oam was uploaded, without the “Cannot Find Main JS edge file Error Message”!!

    I was só happy!!

But then 2 strange things occurred:
-1: it wouldn’t get displayed in the wp-tabs plugin which I use, where it should be placed. In that tabs there also is an embedded Vimeo. So I deleted the video, then my file was indeed displayed – but about 1cm by 1 cm tiny!!
-2: when I put the code outside BENEATH the tabs and their content, then my animation is played all OVER the tabs with their GIF-animations.
When I display it ABOVE the tabs, then it gets partly covered by the tabs. With clicking each seperate tab, the EA sinks deeper or pops up a little bit.

Since I am just an illustrator I only can handle my own built WPsite and I don’t have a test-site, I cannot show you the strange ways of display of my oam. But I can show you the page in which the oam should be: https://booxalive.nl/zipzapjes-voor-babjes/

I hope this new problem doesn’t bring you in dispair, since you are so terribly busy. We are in the midst of so many renewals!

    Best wishes, Magda from Amsterdam

Well, Timm, the dev didn’t work for me. Not certain why. I’ll put more effort into it tomorrow…

@magdigit You most likely have to tweak your stage settings a bit (enable scaling, disable max width, etc.) I have to find someone to write and FAQ section about it.

@timm, thanx for your answer. I already centered the stage in advance, ánd made it responsive both height and width. But in another topic here I read that you warned for slideshows and other plugins, whic can conflict with ES. Hope the conflicts will lessen in the development of ES ??
