Cannot exclude pages from xml sitemap

    I can no longer exclude pages that I don’t want included in the xml sitemap that All In One Seo generates. In the settings I have Robots Meta NOINDEX ticked and that bit works. I have Exclude From Sitemap also ticked but the sitemap still includes those pages. Additionally I tried adding the URLs to the Exclude Pages box which also didn’t strip them from the sitemap. As a result Webmaster Tools warns me that I have multiple URLs in the sitemap that are marked as noindex. Grateful for any help with this.

    Please provide the URL for your XML Sitemap and the URL for a page that you have set to Exclude from Sitemap.

    Is there any way I can pm the sitemap address?

    Using Twenty Sixteen theme.

    An exclude page example that I have excluded in settings is:

    https://www.wimbledonvisitor.com/exclude/

    For some reason this was marked as resolved. Please go to this URL which contains the sitemap address.

    https://www.wimbledonvisitor.com/sitemap-location-url/

    And once this is resolved, I will delete the sitemap location page for privacy reasons.

    Have you deactivated all other plugins to prove it’s not a plugin conflict? If no, then you should do that first.

    Thank you very much for your help. I can confirm that it was the plugin “404page – your smart custom 404 error page” and I have ditched it. All In One works fine now.

    Hello Steve, I am experiencing the same problem – I want to remove the URL https://liveinmalta.eu/posts.

    I ticked the ‘Exclude from Sitemap’ box on the page editor itself, and I added the ‘posts’ slug into ‘Exclude Pages’ section of the All In One SEO backend – both to no avail.

    I double-checked my plugins, but I only have these 4 active aside from AIOSEO:

    EWWW Image Optimizer
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    Limit Login Attempts
    Wordfence Security

    Could you offer any advice please?
